Call for Student Films
We are pleased to announce that the VANDA 2027 Call for Student Films is now open. The submission deadline is 10 September 2026.
For the 2027 edition of VANDA, we invite submissions of student films that engage with visual ethnographies. We welcome works created within the social sciences, as well as films that experiment with ethnographic filmmaking from different disciplinary perspectives. Submitted films should have a maximum duration of 20 minutes and must have been completed after 1 January 2025.
Selected films will be presented in curated screening sessions integrated into the conference programme. The screenings will be followed by discussions that provide an opportunity to explore the thematic and methodological questions raised by the films.
Please submit your film by 10 September 2026 to filmvanda.ksa@univie.ac.at. Submission should include a link to the film (e.g. Vimeo, YouTube, Dropbox or Google Drive) and confirmation that at least one of the authors will be present at the screening session. Films should be in their original language with English subtitles.
